Can I just say that I love homeschooling my kiddos. I really do. It’s hard and the hours are long and these kids refuse to pay me for my efforts but I love being home with them. One of the best parts about homeschooling the munchkins is that we get to do Circle Time together in the mornings. During Circle Time, we read the Bible and discuss what we’ve read, pray for other nations, worship God as a family and soak together. It is such a blessing to be able to hear their hearts on a daily basis.
Lately, though, it’s been a real challenge for me to find the time to do everything I need to do. Between the church and our homeless ministry, managing my cleaning business, homeschooling and homemaking and trying to launch my Beautycounter consultant business, things have been tough. With all that is happening in Texas right now, I can’t help but think about what’s important in life. And so despite feeling tired and stretched thin at the moment, I am very grateful for time spent with my little ones. I know this is time I will never get back and I’m grateful that I get to teach them.
On Tuesdays, we spend the day with my Grandma Vivian. She just turned 89 this week! I think she still looks amazing. And she’s still got all that witty humor. One of the best things about homeschooling the kiddos is the flexibility that we have. I love that the kiddos got to spend the morning with their Great-grandmother–on a school day! These times are precious.
RK’s Teaching Made It All the Way to Cambodia
It’s always appreciated when you hear that something you did is making a positive impact on someone. Recently, RK received a message from our dear friend Velta. She’s doing amazing work for Jesus in Phnom Penh with victims of human trafficking.
What I’m Laughing About
When your kids love survival shows like “Naked and Afraid” and think of Adam and Eve as the first surivors you get conversations like this:
Keahi: Mom, what were they like?
Keahi: Adam and Eve.
Me: Oh, I don’t know. Some people say Eve was probably the most beautiful woman in the world.
Kalena: More like the dirtiest! And the naked-est!
I hope this update finds you well. This Hurricane has me reevaluating my life. I hope you feel good about your life’s work and the way that you spend your time. I hope you take the time to love someone today. I hope you feel encouraged and loved.
